For the Love of Champagne

Designed by Zoë Stanton, this is a set of sell-filling Champagne flutes which are made of hand blown pyrex glass.

It is a very clever design as it gives an equal share of a bottle of bubbly just in one pour.

Champinones Rug by Jose A. Gandia

This is such an earthy yet modern rug designed by Spanish company Gandía-Blasco run by José A. Gandía-Blasco. The rug is handtufted in 100% new wool with cotton backsizing.

The cream colored raised circles give an impression of white pebbles along the river at first glance. Yet they also look like a field of white-capped mushrooms emerged from the soil!

Warm and Inviting Kitchen

This is a lovely and functional open kitchen within a residence in Seattle over looking the Puget Sound and Olympic Mountains.

Two massive masonry hearths interrupt the timbers and define areas for dining, kitchen and family. The cool masonry gives such a great balance to the warm timber. Exposed steel T's run across the timbers and support an exposed and low-slope metal roof. These black steel T's also highlight linearity of the design.

I particularly love the dining chairs with weaving patterns formed by black fabrics. These patterns echo the linear structure of the steel columns and beans, and bring interest to the otherwise monotonous timber dining area.

Green Garage

Taking the mix and match approach, this driveway combines flowering vine, ceramic shingles and tile stones with grass grout.

Though the cecile brunner roses make the places a bit feminine, the vines connect the rigid garage structure to the garden in a nice way, bringing life and energy to a storage.

Mini-Cinema, W Hotel, London

In February 2012, the long awaited W Hotel opened in Leicester Square, London.

Among all the luxurious facilities in the hotel, a small 38 seat cinema that uses custom made Light Graphix warm white LED wall channels that cirss-cross creating hoops of light that have a programmed sequence fade to off as a pre-movie scene.

Those LED rays remind me of Star War's lightsabers... what do you think?

Raindrops over the Atrium

The existing Slater & Gordon Building in Melborune has a very small but narrow atrium with office floors flanking on the north and south sides and glazed structure on the east and west. NDYLIGHT thus created a unique light element that extend the visual effect within the narrow atrium.

The installation has an abstracted concept of individual raindrops falling in an invisible pool. The final outcome of the design is expanded exponentially after hours by reflections in the glazed and mirrored surroundings.

Private Theatre Room

This must be a dream private theatre room for die-hard movie fans!

All the equipments are hidden in the concealed storage behind the framed movie posters! So the entertainment room looks tidy and professional without exposing DVD collections and any equipment. What a smart idea!
